thank you to over 11,000 of you who read this weekly and share with your friends and family for behind the scenes on building zero to 10 million dollar business from scratch and beyond.
i also include a personal note in the end so i am grateful that you let me do that without judgement.
last week was the toughest political season of our life time.
instead of celebrating or whining about who won or lost, here are few things i am thinking of:
love your neighbor - since half the country voted one way or the other, your neighbor is NOT thinking the same as you so that’s something to ponder on
positioning matters - in the last 25ish years of me being in the U.S., i have seen only two clear political messages that won elections by landslide - one was Obama with his message of Change and Trump with his message of MAGA. you can love or hate either one of them but those are the only two messages that resonated with Americans. your messaging and positioning matters because if people don’t remember what you stand FOR, what ever you stand AGAINST, seems to flounder.
it’s never as bad as one thinks in the long term - regardless of what side you are on, what won is the democracy and that is something to be proud of.
let us all not get caught up in the hype but learn to keep up with what we can control and do, as leaders.
elections come and go.
join the movement… ask hard questions and leave the possibility that may be you are right but also that may be, you are wrong and your neighbor and teammates are human beings with thoughts different than you.
the only way to learn about yourself is through conversations with people who don’t think like you.
on a personal note, we have a lot going on in our personal life.
sports, Kiara finished her second book (thanks to everyone who contributed and we exceeded our goal), work travel and the list goes on.
as a result of it, lately we have slipped on a few things that really matter:
regular bible study (that got us all together at home)
regular walks (it’s literally touch and go each day)
regular dinners (everyone is having a bit different timing due to schedules)
i could see my family a bit in disarray with no north star.
quick reflection: it takes a long time to get some order at work or in the family but it doesn’t take long to create chaos.
so here i am again, caught up with all the things of work and life and forgetting the most important thing… time together.
i am trying to get back to keeping up with things that matter and not getting caught up in the wind.
i am trying to slow down on a few things so i can speed up on the most important things in my life.
leader point: it’s not what you keep up that will take you off track, it’s what get caught up that will distract you from your goals.
