thank you to over 11,000 of you who tune in weekly and share this with your friends and family. it means the world to me to have you along for the ride as we navigate the journey of building a zero-to-10-million-dollar (we recently cross $6M) business and beyond.
i also love adding a personal note at the end of these, and i’m so grateful for the space you give me to do that without judgment.
today, instead of my thoughts, i am share thoughts on 9 people that blew me away when i attend a voices to connect event.
each speaker had 10 mins to speak (i got to be one of them) but every single speaker for head and should above me in their message, delivery and thoughtfulness.
so here’s my ONE take away from each of them
Elizabeth Dixon taught me power of owning the wrong to create a bond.
Christopher Tuff taught me to ask better questions if you care enough about people - no more “how you doing”
Valorie Burton, MAPP, MCC taught me that positive emotions leads to successful strategy
Natalie Born - MBA PMP CSM taught me the power of body language which includes your “eyes”
Juliet Funt taught me that normal does not make it right. take action.
Nick Westbrook taught me the word “culture” is a science word which means an environment where things live and grow.
💡James Poulter taught me a chair when you sit is useful to rest, when put on stage will make it a throne and when your hit someone becomes a weapon. AI is the same - use it wisely.
Craig Dowden, Ph.D. taught me ego eats empathy for breakfast.
Holly Moore taught me don’t confuse between talking and communicating. i
learned so much and i urge you to follow these amazing leaders and learn from them!
thanks Julie Shaffner and Jessica Lalley for an amazing experience and event and for letting me be part of it!if you are still reading it - what stood out to you?
on personal note, i have probably played 100 rounds of uno with my daughter in the last month.
yup… not on vacation, but while home working…
given that our kids are home schooled for a couple of days, when she is home and i have a break, she will look at me and say “uno”???
how could i turn that down…
we would quickly have a few games of uno and i get back to work.
we got time together and we get to talk life and school while playing cards.
she almost beat me 3 days in a row, multiple times… kids are too smart!
what i am learning from my daughter is to this: work is great, but don’t forget to have fun along the way!
leader point: leaders are learners and we would do well when we learn from everyone around us, daily!
