thank you to over 11,000 of you who tune in weekly and share this with your friends and family. it means the world to me to have you along for the ride as we build a zero-to-10-million-dollar business (we recently crossed $6m in 4 years) and beyond.
i also love adding a personal note at the end of these, and i’m so grateful for the space you give me to do that without judgment.
on friday, my co-founder and i laughed and cried… all, at the same time.
laughed—because we had to admit how silly some of the mistakes we’ve made are. the kind that messes up the basics.
cried—because we haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.
we started the conversation furious—frustrated about the situations we're dealing with right now.
but in that frustration, we lost sight of all the good from the last 4 years.
so we had to remind ourselves:
we’ve never run out of money (we’ve got runway for the rest of the year).
our clients and readers love what we do (yes, we need more of them).
we have an incredible team that genuinely loves the work.
we’ve helped shape how GTM is done—with our books and frameworks.
we’ve helped create a category that’s creating real jobs.
so many blessings. and the list goes on.
somewhere in that reflection, the fury faded. and curiosity showed up again.
curiosity about how we scale this little business of ours.
on a personal note—i’m writing this after being offline for two weekends.
we took off to savannah for spring break and some much-needed rest.
the funny thing is... i’m learning a new kind of work-life rhythm.
it’s not all work or all play.
it’s doing what you want to do, when you want to do it.
and come to think of it—that’s what entrepreneurship really is.
the freedom to work your butt off on something that just might…
change the world. or at least put a dent in it.
what keeps me going?
curiosity.
the curiosity to build something from nothing.
to raise a family that knows no bounds.
to follow Jesus the best way i can.
some days, i’m furious—at myself, at my family, at my business.
but then i’m reminded…
there’s so much more to be grateful for.
leader point: in business and in life— curiosity creates, being furious, deflates.
