last week was an absolute blast.
did we sell something - may be.
but did we build something really exciting out of this air - you bet we did.
on a PowerPoint deck!!!
it was like magic and what’s important to note about the early days is that we can build new things out of nothing.
why?
because there are no restrictions.
no judgments.
purely based on what we can do and what we can sell.
heck, anything is possible.
like most people (maybe you), i am guilty of this cardinal sin which is to overcomplicate everything.
but last week reminded me of this:
the more you know the more you complicate.
the less you know the more you innovate.
so having a team member that is completely new to this process lead is like watching kids play with water balloons.
some just roll. some hit hard. and some actually bursts.
the point is never to create a perfect ballon.
it’s to create momentum and see what happens.
that’s exactly how we are creating products.
on a personal note:
as we are right middle of summer here in the US, the nights are shorter and the days are longer.
we are spending more time at the pool and as i take a dip and come out feeling refreshed, i concede that life is also a series of “creating something out of nothing.”
the kids create new ways to jump in the water and spash.
the adults find new ways to relax while keeping one eye on the kids.
the lifeguard is bored out of his or her mind trying not to jump in but be serious about their job.
the joy is what we long for.
Leader point: In the early days, the joy of making something new is greater than the sale itself.
what are you making out of thin air lately?
Love thoughts Sangram!
Great post. We tend to put our own constraints when we think of something new……
