thanks for checking in for week 2 of building a business, intentionally!
well - as with all good ideas, it feels great to start something and then you find yourself wondering if that is really good.
will this pay the bills?
are we really that good or just fooling ourselves and drinking our own garbage or champagne?
and the truth is —- all of the above is true.
the reason is — Disbelief sets in too quickly and then the naysayers —- the world is full of them or people who say, go for it - but then real question is - who is going to pay for it….
if they pay - you got your start. if not, the cycle just goes around….
so for this week:
Win: Pitching the ideas with dollar signs and screenshots of a “would be” product/service. Someone wants to buy it but is not sure what they are really buying…
Learning: we have no idea what we are doing and getting smacked with questions after 40 mins —- so what do you do exactly??? duh??? true story! so the work is iterating.
Challenge: as a marketer - it’s easy to come up with a real cute one-liner but then feel embarrassed that it makes no sense at all.
what keeps me going?
some of you have asked me to drop insights on how I am personally keeping my faith, family, and fun in check as i start building something new.
so here’s a sneak peek:
To remind myself, what is REALLY important I have been writing 3 things I am grateful for (3TGF) and 3 things to do (3TTD) every day and then I send the note to my friend Judd - every morning before I start working!
it looks something like this:
it’s been almost 2 years since we have been doing this and at the end of the day, I read it, scratch the 3 most important things to do and if i did that, i feel fulfilled, no matter how much more I need to do.
somedays I do great at this and some days, i am all over the place. the goal is to hit it 3-4 times a week - and that my friends I call it an AWEsome week!
My point: the to-do list is not the goal, the goal is to do the work that matters most, every day.
it’s a mindset shift for me.
drop in comments on how you start and prioritize your day!
love,
Sangram
p.s. well, also let me know if the level of details in these raw notes is helpful or just blah!, that’s what my week 2 looks like as a founder of something (yet to be named).
p.p.s. just put this website together with my frameworks since so many of you have asked for it. you can simply download any of my 21 frameworks on marketing, leadership, and life here
Love it! Keep sharing!
Love it ! Keep on going …. Momentum matters
