week 24: C.A.T out of the bag - this is how we run our business
nothing can be greater that trust
as we are fast moving towards $1M in revenue which is the promise of this entire set of series, we have stumbled on a great theme.
C.A.T - Clarity. Aligment. Team.
most challenges in organizations can be traced backed to these 3 cardinal sins.
lack of clarity burns calories of people thinking and doing unnessary acts
lack of alignment burns customer experiences that are critical for long-term success
lack of team ownership burns trust among teammates that is hard to recover from
so if every team sesh, executive meeting, and offsite is about these 3 things, chances are you are spending less time pointing figures and more time on solving problems.
our goal should always be about connecting the dots and what’s missing.
not about who did what and didn’t.
in the next month, i can dive deeper on this topic if there is interest in it so comment below if you like or have questions.
C.A.T process has transformed the way we think, act and make decisions.
give it a try!
on a personal note:
i gave a keynote at Inbound in Boston last week and this week i am doing a keynote at OpsStar in SF.
then we are on a 3 city-roadshow (SF, Boston, and Seattle) in October and November.
while i am travelling and making sefies like this:
i am also realzing that i am away from my family and all the work of driving kids around, school drop and pick ups and activities fall on my better half.
so given that is sacrifice we both are making (since we are so engaged with our kids but clearly more on my wife), i write cards to my wife for each of the travel dates.
the card simple says somthing like - “I know that this is hard. I know you are making it work. If today has been hard, tomorrow will be better. Because you do what you do, i get to do what i do and together, we will make it thru. i thank God for you in my life.”
now that is not a patronizing statement but i write something like this and make sure my kids read and give it to her every night i travel.
why?
because i want them to know this:
Clarity - this is hard. not easy. mom needs your help.
Alignment - we are stronger together.
Team - we can’t do this alone. we are a team.
i hope as the kids grow they realize that nothing in life worth working for is easy.
hard work has cost but that shouldn’t make us weaker rather look at it as an opportunity to be stronger.
if i don’t need to travel, i won’t.
if i need to travel, i will (with discenment).
but whatever we do, we do it as a team.
love,
Sangram
Not the grind... but the constant hustle will help you win with the right team and strategy... Or GTM :-)
