i have traveled two weeks back to back and now going to do a 3-city roadshow (if you are in Seattle, Boston or San Francisco- i will love to meet you).
here’s what i am learning as i am traveling.
always travel in twos.
why?
well, first of all - it’s lonely to travel just by myself to speak so when my co-founder or a team member travels with me, we are bouncing ideas, making deeper connections, learning about each other.
that’s what water cooler conversation used to be about.
secondly, in a world where every meeting has an agenda - it’s great to travel in twos and build more meaningful relationships that does not start and end with action items.
as a matter of fact, you should even hire in twos.
at Pardot and my last company, Terminus - this was a big deal.
because when you hire in two, you automatically create a bond for life.
doesn’t matter if it’s on the same team (it’s better if not so you can create cross-functional and cross-level relationships from the get go)
with two - you can execute on ideas at a much higher speed.
and yes, with two - you can tango.
on a personal note
we just took a couple of days off fall break to get away to see Callaway Gardens.
we ended up chilling and simply doing bunch of nothing.
it’s fun when there is no agenda - you should try it.
at first it might baffle you but as you get to learn more about yourself and family, you will find amazing moments that will change how you take vacations.
talking to some locals who told us to visit this wild life safari place out of no where.
so we went there and look what we found — Lamas!!!
and guess what, they came to eat from our car in twos :)
Leaderpoint: Hire and travel in twos because you learn and grow in twos.
Great point sangram ❤️ Boom 👏
Love this post Sangram! I’ve been traveling like crazy and attest that traveling in pairs (for me it’s my wife) is a must. ❤️❤️❤️
