Week 27: hire a Virtual Assistant for your team (not for just the CEO) ... now and here's why
this is how you add hours to your day
did you ever think you need a Virtual Assistant (VA) has literally doubled our productivity?
why?
well everyone is in meetings most of the time and trying to make many things happen.
but then there is something called “work”.
for example we are doing 3 city-roadshow and now someone has to keep the list, order the food, look for locations, scan the list, do 1:1 invites, research the area and the list goes on.
you can either do it all by yourself…. and result to burnout and frustration.
or you can get VA from many of the US based or offshore location who can do the work for you.
so right off the bat, we hired a VA for marketing and sales to jointly use it for many of these activities and i could see the joy of it.
we are doing this for graphics work, development work, and using partnership to do trade-offs for using services instead of paying for it.
work is not bad.
wrong work by right person is bad.
on a personal note:
it’s 12:30 - Friday afternoon.
my wife is coming from her devotional meetings and she texts me, do you want to go for lunch?
i have a 1 pm podcast interview.
i took a moment and recognized how easy it will be say just grab me something as it’s pretty last minute but instead i felt the urge to call my podcast friend to reschedule for a later in the day.
my podcast friend said of course and was gracious enough to change the time when i told him why I want to reschedule. he actually appreciated it.
my wife and i went out for lunch and the world continued.
in the past, i would always override my life with my work.
this Friday was one of my personal happy moments where I didn’t and still managed to do better both at work and lunch.
this time, I was the VA for my wife and i wouldn’t outsource that for anything :)
somethings are better done by yourself.
Leaderpoint: Find ways to add more hours to your days by not doing more, but rather focusing on things that only you can do and delegating the rest.
Always good to outsource part of the jobs that are non value add, can focus on things that matter
