this is week 3 of building a business and already over 10,000 people are on this list.
thank you for joining and sharing!
so get right into it!
there’s nothing like winning.
no ping pongs, no video games, and no unlimited vacations will ever give you the excitement that winning will ever do.
now in the early days, when you are not winning deals, you have to redefine what winning means.. laughing at myself! (that’s self-marketing BTW)
so winning to me right now is simply a good call that leads to a proposal, a deck completed feeling, scratching the to-do list item, and working with people who help me grow and I can do the same for them.
but until we know where we are going, we are just arguing, definitely not winning.
so we are starting to get our first pitch together, the logo is here and the website will be there in two weeks, and then boom! we launch.
but wait —- what’s the mission statement and the why?
a company without a clear (electrifying and evangelistic) mission/vision statement, there is a little excitement every day. all nothing but just work.
but when you add a spice of a clear mission statement, all of sudden you have a little pep in your walk and talk. so we are working on it. really hard!
in summary… for my 3rd week to build an intentional business
Win: we got a few deals in the works (that’s all thru the network and conversation that we set). our goal is to set 3 pitch calls each week for the next month and get better at it
Learning: don’t complicate things. people pay for problems so find out the problem you can solve from them, and you be amazed how much money one would be willing to pay for it.
Challenge: picking what to focus on is unbelievably hard. everything looks like it’s a gold mine and at the same time everything is also a dead end. Picking the right bets is really more of an art than science. so all we are doing is saying:
Let’s be rigid on the vision but flexible on the details.
What does the family say about it:
well, just like every company, every family has to have a mission statement.
for us it’s simply this:
Vajre’s always make it thru, with God’s love, grace, and truth.
now when that happens, we feel like winning.
When someone is hurting, we remind ourselves that God loves us.
When someone tells the truth, we don’t condemn them we embrace them.
When someone does something wrong, we try to practice grace all the more.
so drop in below - your company and even better, your family mission statement, and let’s start winning!
love,
Sangram
p.s. this is not normal to have something going so quickly but we also know that one deal doesn’t scale so the work begins! for real!
p.p.s. My 21 frameworks on the business of marketing, leadership, and life are here
Keeping it simple and focused always helps ! Thanks for sharing, winning is also about stepping foot in the arena and just starting, having a plan and slacking it in…
Birthing is HARD! I’ve been doing it for 6 months. Every week requires both, muscle and perspective. Continued wisdom!
