thank you to over 10,000 of you who read this weekly and share with your friends and family.
starting GTM Partners in the mid-year was a crazy idea. after all who starts a company in a down economy???
the only thing i personally knew was that there were 4 people i could go to war with and that’s the core team.
no concrete business idea except energy, excitement and pure faith in God that something will turn out of this effort.
plus building a profitable business is not something most entrepreneurs think of these days putting themselves into a venture debt that most companies can’t ever get out of.
now this whole newsletter started with documenting the journey to $1M in revenue within one year, and guess what, i have good feeling that we will hit it (Shhhh!!!)
but to me it’s not about being an A player from day 1.
it’s about being a solid B.
meaning… we will work harder than anyone else because we know we have a mountain to climb, yet, we will never slack into a C player mindset.
being solid B means slow and steady… keep the pace, keep inching forward and creating momentum in every area of the business.
never arrived but also getting closer.
on a personal note:
i tell the same thing to my kids and they look at me in wonder that i don’t really want them to be an A student all the time. A for effort but if you are getting all A’s all the time then to me you are not playing at the right level. You will be scared to loose and when you do loose, you will have a hard time recovering.
i do expect them to have a solid B mindset - slow and steady keep improving.
if they get A - they will be afraid to fail.
if they get C - they will feel like a looser.
they start at B - they now have something to work towards (A) and something to fear from (C).
leaderpoint: the goal of business and life is not success, but progress.
Thank you so much for this🥺
As Hertz rental car used to say: “We’re number two. We try harder.”
