thank you to over 10,000 of you who read this weekly and share with your friends and family for behind the scenes on building a million dollar business from scratch and beyond.
last week, i shared how we went from 0 to million in 9 months and the 10 principles or plays we ran to get there.
a lot of you asked about the play 1 that is about how do you redefine the problem
so here is how we did it, twice.
in 2015, everyone only understand the inbound funnel as the way to do marketing. Hubpost had done a great job of popularizing the funnel concept but it has been there for a decade.
when you see something out there as a standard, that’s the opportunity to flip it.
well, with the funnel just so happens, i flipped the funnel on a paper napkin on a flight and called it flipmyfunnel - gave it a new name that people are challenged with but at the same time get it.
people who like to challenge the status quo will immediately grasp it and become your evangelist which led us to write books, do a podcast and an event series around this one concept of flipmyfunnel bringing over 100,000 marketers following the movement.
that was 2015.
now, in 2022, we look at go-to-market as a similarly state, old word that really has been out there and everyone has there own definition around it.
so we created an GTM Operating System which by itself means that there will be ongoing upgrades to this framework but the business has to use it to operate at a high-performing level for efficient growth.
we created 8 pillars that are NOT sales, marketing, and customer success as the usuals but rather, new pillars that will make people think or rethink about go-to-market as a strategic lever to grow their business.
there you have it!
on a personal note, i am traveling again and this time was in Vegas at the Sendoso doing a keynote on how modern companies go-to-market and had everyone touch their toes!
yep! that’s part of my keynote now.
it was new for many people because everyone quickly learned that once what was easy, now is hard.
once that was old, now is new.
people said, well, that never happened at any keynote before.
i even had a song using chatGPT play out to make it fun.
i even had a impromtu rap session on the stage with volunteers during my keynote:
was it crazy, yeah!
was it memorable, you bet it was.
leaderpoint: always be all learning and never be all knowing.
Love the Leaderpoint! Especially in this rapidly changing world!
