thank you to over 11,000 of you who read this weekly and share with your friends and family for behind the scenes on building a million dollar business from scratch and beyond.
i also include a personal note in the end so i am grateful that you let me do that without judgement.
being a CEO has been a roller coaster.
a lot of times people might not realize that as a CEO you see everything at a high-level along with the good, the bad and the ugly.
one the greatest lesson have been to maintain my cool with the constant context switching with good and the bad news.
most days here are my conversations:
early morning call with someone on the team saying this is not working so we need to go slow
same time later in the day, someone says, we need to get faster at selling and delivering and not doing enough
one call with a customer that didn’t get what they expected
another call with a customer that is beyond excited and ready to sign a multi-year deal
one sales call is about not enough money
on another sales calls we will find money to do this as we see this as game changing
what has helped me during this roller coaster is the following.
and fortunately i have been doing this for the last 4 years.
at least 3-4 days a week, i will start my days writing down 3 things i am grateful for (3TGF) and three things to do (3 TTD) and share it with a friend and now with the team
at the end of the day, i will simply cross out my to-dos and let it go.
i have remind myself that the list of to-dos will never end but helping me prioritize what’s really the most important conversations and items, helps me keep my cool.
knowing that i did what was the most important things to do today, i am ready for tomorrow.
on a personal note, both of our kids (2nd grade and 7th grade) got on the honor roll.
but not only that they both got the highest academic in their class!!
well, for me who has never been good at studies, that’s crazy cool.
we celebrated with dinner at Panda Express (HA!!) - that’s what they wanted.
my wife and i can’t take any credit on their merit because our focus has always been on hard work, character and God first mindset and believe the rest will follow.
this is a blessing for us.
how do you maintain your cool day-to-day with competing priorities?
leaderpoint: when you stay grateful and focus on your priorities, good things come running after you.
Balance and consistency is the key ! Sometimes it is difficult, but love the 3 things you highlighted! I remember the tortoise and the hare story in elementary school. Something I wrote about:
