thank you to over 11,000 of you who read this weekly and share with your friends and family for behind the scenes on building a million dollar business from scratch and beyond.
i also include a personal note in the end so i am grateful that you let me do that without judgement.
as our team at GTM Partners have grown to 10 people, we are trying something new in our weekly team meeting.
we call it the “show and tell” meeting - where anyone can show what they are working on in service of one of the following three things:
advance our mission to make go-to-market simple (eg. which frameworks are we creating to help companies understand and implement to make meaningful change in their business)
advance our vision to be the go to for go-to-market (eg. how many are reading our GTMonday research note, what our customers are saying, what are we doing to be the de-facto standard on the topic of go-to-market)
advance our purpose which is to do the best work of our lives (eg. what gave you satisfaction this week that made you enjoy your work last week)
now, we never really fully do this well but last week, we spent an hour doing show and tell and it was so much fun.
the goal is not to be perfect but only get better at this.
i believe if we can continue to “show and tell” what we are doing with these three guidelines, we will have clarity, alignment and team (CAT) on our team.
due to travel for the last few weeks, i had to cancel this meeting and it led to a lot of confusion on who is doing what and our prioritization was a mess.
sometimes, until you stop doing something, you don’t realize the value of it.
so now, as a team, we committed to doing at least one CAT session of “show and tell” each week to stay organized and aligned on our mission, vision, and purpose.
on a personal note, my mom is here after a long time.
we both have different faith which has been a bit of a challenge to work through over the years.
but by the grace of God, i am grateful that we have been able to have peace and i was able to talk thru with her why we believe what we believe.
actually, i think we are in a constant “show and tell” mode because if we truly believe in Jesus then we need to do what He has commanded which is simply to do the following two things:
love your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength
love your neighbor as yourself
that is the mission, vision and purpose that Jesus gave to everyone to live by.
well, the greatest of all things is love and no matter what our differences, love surpasses all things.
i pray that as a family, we showed undefinable love of Jesus to her.
leader point: embrace “show and tell”, so you are consistent with your mission, vision and purpose at work and in life.
Show and Tell works since everybody focus on the best work they have done, builds excitement among team! It allows for simplicity in messaging since it is shared with a diverse audience
