thank you to over 11,000 of you who read this weekly and share with your friends and family for behind the scenes on building a million dollar business from scratch and beyond.
i also include a personal note in the end so i am grateful that you let me do that without judgement.
dreams.
we all have them but only a few chase it.
building a business is exactly that - a dream.
no business leader has ever put a plan together and has seen it executed exactly the same way.
dreams are born out of challenging the status quo.
as we are build GTM Partners, we are learning to dream big.
the first year was simply survival.
the second year was making ends meet with some success.
the their year is now about dreaming big.
here is how we define big at GTMP:
our vision is to be go to for go-to-market - so we are building the largest and the most engaged reader list called GTMonday (current about 30,000 readers)
have one year money in the bank at any given time - so we signed up with a finance bank that will give us upfront payments for the contracts we sign so we can have a good cash flow
build a profitable business - we are building multiple lines of business that when one or two of them start clicking, we can put our full weight behind it
to some, these might be small goals.
to us, it’s about doing meaningful work on our own terms.
i can tell you truly that the team and i are working likely the hardest in our lives.
there is a new energy and a little pep in our walk.
and it all starts with believing and dreaming.
are we there yet? nope, not even close.
can we see it? oh! yeah, it’s far away but we have a glimpse of it.
can we feel it? you bet, there is a movement in the making.
it feels good.
on a personal note, last year, my daughter Kiara, came to me and said papa - can i be an author like you?
i said you bet, if you can dream it, you can do it - all you gotta do is put work into it.
Kiara is 9 and she asked what do i need to do?
i asked her to write the outline, chapter heading, set a date and time and give me your writeup by October.
well, guess what, she delivered.
so today her book is published and her reaction is priceless.
her dream was to see herself as an author.
simple.
she put in the work.
and as parents, we got to see her joy.
now that she has written one book, she wants to write a 52 week kids devotion with Jesus.
she is already two chapters in :)
what a little boost of confidence will do for us is undeniable.
the goal for me was for her to dream and see what happens when she puts in the work.
it was never the book. it was the pursuit of her dream.
the goal was for her to have confidence in herself that if she can dream it, she can do it.
leader point: in business and in life, chase your dreams and even if you fail, i promise you will never regret it.
This is amazing!
