thank you to over 11,000 of you who read this weekly and share with your friends and family for behind the scenes on building a million dollar business from scratch and beyond.
i also include a personal note in the end so i am grateful that you let me do that without judgement.
one of the biggest lesson i have learned in the last 3 businesses that i have been fortunate to be part of, is how building a community can transform your business growth.
first when i ran marketing at Pardot that got acquired eventually by Salesforce, i got a taste of how community is built.
Salesforce, not only did a yearly conference called Dreamforce (brining 100,000 people together and many more thru online) but also location specific events called Salesforce One. it was a community centric growth model that didn’t exists before.
then when i became the cofounder of Terminus, we launched FlipMyFunnel, which helped build a community of believers in the topic of ABM. we did FlipMyFunnel podcast, books, roadshow with over 30,000 people on just the email list.
today there are over 10,000 people with ABM jobs around the world that still read our books, listen to our podcast and use our frameworks.
with my latest venture, GTM Partners, we do a monthly roadshow brining go-to-market executives coming together, sharing ideas and best practices.
even this weekend, i had a chance to bring a group of aspiring first time authors together for a project called “a book in a weekend” and doing the same thing again in June (if you want to join me and become a first time author).
the point is, in each of the thing i have been part of is simple an extension of this idea, that without a community, you are simply a commodity.
on a personal note, i am very proud and thankful for my wife and kids.
while i get to do these things and i really mean, “i get to” and not that i have to, there is a clear strain on the family from time perspective.
for the book in a weekend, my daughter wanted to watch “the book shark tank” when the first time authors gave their pitches to the publishers to see if one of the publishers will give them a book deal.
my wife drove 2 hours with our kids just for that so that my daughter can experience it.
my daughter was loving every bit of it and it was inspiring at the least.
i thank God for giving me the opportunity to do it and the family that not only supports me but also there with me.
ultimately, my family is my immediate community and the most important community.
leader point: in business and in life, find your tribe, build your tribe, and love you tribe.
Nicely done
