Week 36: zero to million in 9 months, again!
can't believe it, but we are here and happy new year
thank you to over 10,000 of you who read this weekly and share with your friends and family.
if you have been reading from the beginning, you know that the purpose of this note was to document the journey of entrepreneurship and see if we get can get to $1M in revenue in a year.
well, we did it and we did it in 9 months!!!
sometimes, God has a way to make a way that seems impossible at first.
i was trying to see how different it might be from the last time i did a startup and surprisingly, it’s not.
so since i am framework kind of guy, here it is.
for the next 10 weeks, i plan to outline 10 go-to-market principles we did that were common to both Terminus and GTM Partners that got us to a million in revenue in 9 months, regardless of market conditions, money in the bank or type of business.
i honestly am shocked that this is actually true.
it’s not a quick fix but the principles are most likely very applicable to your business but it will require some disciplined work on your end.
if interested, just comment below (need a little encouragement as this is going to take some work on my end) and share with one person that you think might want to learn from this.
leaderpoint: whatever you dream is, you can dream bigger!
p.s. just to be clear - this is not me making a million dollar soloprenuer kind of thing but rather a business that employees a team that can grow to build an efficient and profitable growth model.
no surprise at all Sangram and I love the breakout on the line below ;) -- amen!
Sangram - thanks, as always, for sharing your experience at such a personal level. I can't help but wonder if the previous success, although achieved at great cost, was a major contributor to the success of your second act? Said another way, would you be able to do what you've done with GTM Partners, in terms of experience, platform and financial flexibility, if you hadn't lived through Terminus? It's a question without an answer, because we can't A/B test life!
I am in the season of life when my children are beginning their own life as adults. Much of the advice they receive is, "if I had to do it over again," which is often provided by people (like me) who have the extreme luxury of not living paycheck to paycheck. My hope for them is that they start their journey with their sites focused firmly on God's Kingdom and that they use their gifts for His glory and purpose. My hope for me is that I listen to my own advice :-) 🙏
